See You In 2015!

You know when at the end of an action film the hero walks away from the blown up building, ultimately saving the day?  Well, that's what I thought when I first saw this picture. Yes, I got all of that from this picture but it made me think about all of the adventures that I've had this year.  From closing down Peachtree Street for guests to cross to a reception to orchestrating weddings across the country, this year has been pretty epic.  As a planner, I get requests from my clients that are simple and some that are challenging.  Finding the solution to unforeseen issues and seemingly impossible requests, is what makes my job so exciting.

As 2014 quickly comes to a close, I am so grateful for my relationships with clients, vendors and other wedding industry professionals whom I've have had the pleasure to work with.  Thank you for making 2014 so memorable!  See you in 2015!

Sunday

Alicia & Walter!

Alicia and Walter were married on a beautiful Summer afternoon at the stunning 3109 Piedmont Estate.  Working with them was really exciting to me because they were so in love and had a very clear vision of what they wanted their wedding day to be.  Alicia is a foodie and she made it clear that the food was going to be a big part of the day.  Working closely with A Legendary Event, her perfect brunch was executed.  Whenever she talked about Walter, Alicia would get this light in her eyes and a huge smile on her face.  From our planning meetings to Alicia walking down the aisle, one thing was for sure, their love was the real thing.

I'm not normally a fan of a bride changing for the reception but Alicia basically shut it DOWN with her reception dress.  Just wait for it...

Tuesday

Misty & Ty!

The first time I met Misty, I knew instantly that I wanted to work with her.  Misty, her mother and I sat down for coffee and talked for a while about her wedding fears and ideas and about how she and Ty met.  After our meeting, they were going to look at dresses and they had another meeting with a different planner the next day.  A few hours after coffee, I got a call saying that they would love to work with me.  Inside I was like, "YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!"  There was something special about Misty.

I've talked about how important it is for my clients to trust me during the planning process and Misty totally did. I would check in with her about a certain detail and she'd just say, "I trust you"  which made everything so easy.  It was raining like crazy on her wedding day and we had to make the decision whether or not to still have the wedding outside in the rain.  You don't get married at Foxhall to have your ceremony inside...if you've been there, you know what I mean.  The best part of the day was when it started raining as soon as the ceremony started and Misty didn't care at all.  Her guests sat in their seats as Misty walked out to Ty in the rain.  That was their dream and they weren't going to let a little rain stop them.

{Misty's Monique Lhuillier gown was absolutely stunning!}

Wednesday

Sarah & Tommy!

I hope you guys have a little time on your hands because I'm about to introduce you to Sarah and Tommy.  Sarah and Tommy came to me at the referral of a previous client that I had a few years ago.  During our first meeting, Sarah explained multiple times that she was very detail oriented which, in the wedding world, is also code for Bridezilla.  I kept waiting for it to come out of her but after about 6 months, I stopped being worried about it.  There was a level of trust between us that ultimately contributed to the "Ultimate Atlanta Wedding".

Their ceremony was held at The Georgian Terrace and the reception was across the street at The Fox Theatre.  Anyone wanna know how we got all the guests across the street?  A red carpet, of course!  We shut down Peachtree Street in order to take pictures and get everyone over to the reception.  It had to have been the windiest day in Atlanta because the red carpet was literally flying in the air.  Sarah and Tommy rolled with it like champs.  Enjoy!
